9th Confederation Reserve Cavalry
1/72 scale scratch/bash.
Flush with military procurement resources in the years before Operation GREAT FLOOD, the CCAF managed to assign upgrade projects even to second-line units.
Based on the UM-AIV’s endo-steel chassis, Hellespont’s UM-88L reduces costs by retaining an unmodified standard engine, unlike the more common R93 upgrade. The configuration resembles that of the old R70 variant, but the typical lasers are exchanged for standard SRMs. The ammunition dependence is less of a problem for a unit expected to stay close to base. The inclusion of CASE is welcomed by pilots, as its presence is solely for the sake of allowing a neutered UM-88L to retreat from the field. The UM-88L also features searchlights and fine manipulators for added utility during sentry duty and noncombat garrison tasks.
