Battling Monster Game a Favorite of Kids and Industry Experts on the Most Comprehensive and Notable Holiday Toy List for Parents

BELLEVUE, Wash. - October 7, 2009 - Smith & Tinker®, a company reinventing play for the connected generation, today announced that FunFare Magazine, the leading consumer publication geared toward the best in toys, games and fun products for kids and families, named Nanovor and the Nanoscope on the Annual HOT DOZEN list for this coming holiday season. In separate news today, Smith & Tinker also announced the release of the Nanoscope at retailers across the U.S., gearing up for the holiday shopping season.

The Holiday HOT DOZEN is the longest running consumer holiday hot list. The Holiday HOT DOZEN is published by Gareb Shamus of Wizard Entertainment, and is the most widely read and quoted holiday toy list designed for consumers. The toys on this year's list were selected by independent experts and tested by children. Nanovor and the Nanoscope were named alongside some of the toy industry's largest brands including Disney, Lego, Mattel, Hasbro and LeapFrog.

The HOT DOZEN review of Nanovor stated, "Kids love playing collectible card games like Pokèmon on the playground, and they love playing computer games with friends online. This handheld device finally bridges the digital divide. Nanovor lets kids collect, trade and battle their collections of monsters online, and two to four Nanoscopes can magnetically attach, letting kids have face-to-face Nanovor battles that use and affect their online stats."

"As a parent, it's important to identify what products are the best for their kids. There are so many choices today, so we give parents a go-to guide for finding the items we know their kids will love," said Gareb Shamus, publisher of FunFare Magazine.

"The HOT DOZEN has long been viewed as one of the most influential resources for selecting and reviewing the hottest new kids products," said Joe Lawandus, co-founder and president of Smith & Tinker. "Nanovor's selection for this list is a strong indicator of how our product will be received during the holiday shopping season. We created Nanovor with the mission of reinventing play for the connected generation, and appreciate FunFare's acknowledgement of the innovation Nanovor brings to the toy aisle."

To explore the world of Nanovor and begin playing, visit www.nanovor.com, or pick up a Nanoscope at a major retailer near you. The Nanoscope has a suggested retail price of $49.99. Kids can purchase Nanocash, the game's virtual currency used to buy more monsters, online or as pre-paid gift cards.

The complete list of premier holiday products compiled by FunFare staff and kid experts will debut LIVE at the Big Apple Comic Con at New York City's Pier 94 (55thStreet @ 12th Avenue) in front of press and tens of thousands of consumers on October 16-18, 2009. Members of the press and general public will have the opportunity to interact with the toys, including the full Holiday HOT DOZEN list.
