War For Benjamin Heats Up

Neither Davions nor Dragon Granting Any Quarter

8 February 3069 [ISAP]: After two months of hard fighting, neither of the combatants on Benjamin has drawn a decisive advantage over the other. While the Federated Suns troops hold the ruins of Kyoto City, the defending Sixth Ghost Regiment remains active around the Davion forces, continuing to engage them in skirmish after skirmish.

"We’re reminding them that we're still here," Sho-sa Ryuchi Osaka of the Sixth told us. "While they may hold the defenses of Kyoto City, we control most of the area around it, and loyal Combine citizens are helping us to contain the Davion infection. They are a long way away from their sources of supply in the Draconis March, and every day we eat away at their underbellies. Soon they will give up and go home, certain in the knowledge that the Dragon does not allow interlopers on her soil."

While we tried to get reporters inside Kyoto City to speak with the Davion forces, none were allowed through the AFFS cordons into the city. We have been unable to ascertain the status of several ISAP sources known to have been inside Kyoto City when the Draconis March forces landed.

The only thing that seems certain on Benjamin is that, unless something changes the equation, the fighting is sure to continue for some time. If history has taught us anything, it’s that these kinds of battles can last for months or even years as the Sword and the Dragon battle.
