Looking back at the hottest trends of the year
[December 15th, 3072; Savannah Guardian]It was a good year for those in the entertainment industry this year. In trid-films, the Immortal Warrior series led the way with Jaguar’s Revenge, followed by Taro Fugita’s Three to One about the formation of the Lyran state. Rounding out the top five were Love Amongst the Stars, Romeo and Juliet, and the controversial Canopus is Burning. Both theater and home viewership was up, 11% and 6% respectively. On the small screen, The Steinhearts continued to lead the way, while the somewhat over the top ISF managed to do well even among foreign audiences. After three years in second place, Xin Sheng! barely managed to make it into this year’s top five, behind Cary Kerry Carey and the first part of the classic made-for-vid trilogy, Warrior: En Garde.

Led by media giant Earcandy, the music industry rebounded from an off year, with Blood for Tears’ debut neopunk album “The Ubiquitous Self Titled Debut Album” breaking all sorts of records. Kristi Ryder unleashed a new album, “Careless Dreams” to rebound from her latest tabloid covered incidents. The Vega Planetary Orchestra picked the right time to ride a wave of renewed interest in classical music with “Wager and Mayuzumi”. Performance artists Firebrand did well with a trideo/musical live performance, “Firebrand Live: Sian”. Despite tying the fifth best selling album, Trent Yong’s “My Way” was something of a disappointment while The Kaiser Panda Chefs were pleased at their follow up album, “Revolution Again”.
